Nigeria, Aug. 16 -- The Accord Party has won Ife Central Local Government Area in the Osun governorship election, securing a 5,258-vote margin over the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The result was announced at the Ife Central LGA collation centre at about 10:43 p.m. on Saturday. The result will be reviewed at INEC's Central collation center in Osogbo before the result is finally ratified

According to the LG result, the Accord Party polled 21,171 votes, while the APC secured 15,913 votes.

A total of 39,330 votes were cast from the 39,990 accredited voters in the local government area. Of the votes cast, 38,380 were declared valid, while 950 were rejected.
