United States, Aug. 18 -- The University of Connecticut (UConn), Storrs, Connecticut, is awarded a $13,617,790 cost-reimbursement contract for applied research to advance undersea vehicle technologies. UConn and the University of Rhode Island (URI) are partners at the National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT). Together, via the NIUVT partnership, the universities have over eight years of past performance conducting and delivering fundamental and applied research for the benefit of the Navy and its shipbuilders in Southern New England.
