Sweden, Aug. 31 -- The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending up to €100 million to Swedish medical-technology company Elekta AB to advance treatments for a range of cancers and neurological diseases. The EIB loan will support Elekta's research and development work in radiotherapy, radiosurgery, brachytherapy and the software used to plan and deliver therapies.Stockholm-based Elekta develops technologies to treat illnesses including brain tumours, breast cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer and essential tremor.
