United States, May 15 -- The St. Joseph County 911 Consolidated Communications Center announced it has made history as the nation's first public safety agency to connect home and business alarm companies directly to its 911 dispatchers through a secure cloud system.Historically, when a security or fire alarm activated, personnel at a monitoring center had to call the 911 center directly. This manual process could take up to two minutes per call and open the door to challenges, such as crucial information being missed or delays in response while details were verified over the phone.
