RBI imposes monetary penalty on Jalna District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., Maharashtra
India, Aug. 27 -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has, by an order dated August 25, 2026, imposed a monetary penalty of Rs. 50,000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) on Jalna District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., Maharashtra (the bank), for non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on 'Membership of Credit Information Companies (CICs) by Co-operative Banks' and 'Know Your Customer (KYC)'. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI, under the provisions of section 25(1)(iii) read with section 23(4) of the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005 and under the provisions of section 47A(1)(c) read with sections 46(4)(i) and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.The statutory inspection of the bank ...
