Japan, Feb. 17 -- Sumitomo Corporation hereby announces the current status and response regarding the impact by Cyclone "Gezani" on February 10, 2026 (local time) at the Ambatovy Nickel Project in the Republic of Madagascar (the "Project"), a company invested in by Sumitomo Corporation.Cyclone "Gezani" passed through eastern Madagascar, bringing strong winds, heavy rainfall, and storms to the country. Extensive damage has been reported across the affected areas.At the Project, operations were suspended as soon as the approach of the cyclone became known, with the highest priority placed on ensuring safety of those involved.
