Australia, Feb. 3 -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Anthony Gill as the first Country Director of its new Solomon Islands Resident Mission in Honiara. Mr. Gill, who assumes office today, will lead ADB's operations in Solomon Islands. He will also oversee the implementation of the forthcoming Pacific Approach 2026-2030, which will serve as ADB's overall country partnership strategy for Solomon Islands. Solomon Islands has been working with ADB since 1973. To date, ADB has committed 49 sovereign projects and 134 technical assistance (TA) projects totaling $644 million to Solomon Islands.
