India, Oct. 26 -- Like every successive year, a political stalemate surfaced over the quality of the Yamuna River water, where lakhs of devotees are to pay obeisance on the occasion of Chhath puja celebrations during the next two days.

In between, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) reported about worsening water quality in the Yamuna, a day after the full Delhi Cabinet-led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Yamuna ghats at different locations and assured proper conduct of the Chhath puja.
