India, May 10 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Taranjit Singh Sandhu said on Saturday that the Yamuna is an ecological lifeline, and restoring the river is closely linked to Delhi's environmental future.
Developing biodiversity zones and eco-restoration efforts across the Yamuna floodplains are particularly significant in this regard, he said at the 5th International Summit & Expo on Bioenergy Value Chain BBB 2026.
"From reviving the Yamuna River to expanding green cover across the capital, our focus remains on transforming sustainability into a collective, citizen-led movement," he said in a post on X.
