India, July 15 -- The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar has now lasted 26 days. Activist Sonam Wangchuk is on a hunger strike that has reached its 17th day, and three students have joined him for the same duration. Protesters say the Government has not answered their calls for dialogue, policy changes, or the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke posted on X that Wangchuk's health has worsened during the hunger strike. Dipke said Wangchuk has lost over eight kilograms and is feeling weak and dizzy. Organisers said that with three students now joining the hunger strike, supporters are more concerned and are urging the government to start a dialogue before things get worse.
