India, July 3 -- The United States reportedly warned Iran about an alleged Israeli plan to assassinate two of its top negotiators during sensitive diplomatic talks aimed at ending regional tensions. According to reports citing current and former US officials, the warning was passed through intermediary countries after Washington feared such an attack could derail ongoing negotiations and trigger a wider conflict.
The officials believed the alleged targets were Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, both of whom were playing key roles in negotiations related to a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
