India, Jan. 23 -- Ride-hailing service Uber announced that they would be dramatically increasing the number of vehicles on their 'Uber Black' premium service in 2026. Working with fleet operators such as the CarDekho promoted Carrum which recently raised $7 million (INR 60 crore) in Series-A funding from Uber, plans exist to double the fleet of Black vehicles.
The Uber Black fleet is currently only available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Bengaluru but according to Prabhjeet Singh, President, Uber India and South Asia, the demand for 'premium mobility and elevated service standards' has been such that the service will also be rolled out in other cities.
