India, June 14 -- US President Donald Trump has claimed that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran could be finalized soon, raising hopes of easing months of conflict that have affected the wider Middle East region.
However, Iranian officials have indicated that discussions are still ongoing and no final decision has been made.
According to reports, the proposed agreement could lead to the reopening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz and create a framework for further negotiations on Iran's nuclear programme.
