BOKARO, July 1 -- On the occasion of Hul Diwas on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and Superintendent of Police Harvinder Singh paid floral tribute at the Shaheed Memorial located at Police Lines, Sector-12. They honoured the heroic legacy of Sidho-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, Phulo-Jhano and all martyrs of the Santhal rebellion, including fallen police personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the Santhal Hul of 1855 remains a deeply inspiring chapter in India's freedom struggle. It was not only a revolt against British rule but also a powerful expression of tribal resistance against social injustice and exploitation.
