Tremor of 2.6 magnitude recorded in Ahmedabad; no damage reported
India, July 30 -- A mild tremor of magnitude 2.6 was recorded in Ahmedabad district early Thursday, with no damage to life or property reported, the Institute of Seismological Research said.
39 a.m., with its epicenter located 29 kilometers south-southwest of Ahmedabad, the Gandhinagar-based institute said.
The tremor occurred at a depth of about 20 kilometers below the ground surface, according to the ISR.
Because of its low intensity, the tremor had no significant impact and was felt by only a few people.
District disaster management officials said no damage to life or property had been reported.
