India, Oct. 15 -- Many trade unions, including CITU and Electricity Employees' Federation of India (EEFI), on Tuesday urged the Central Government to withdraw the Draft Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2025 for "protection of public electricity sector and Right to Electricity." CPI(M)'s CITU said that the draft Bill contains various failed versions of the Amendment Bill from 2014 in the name of reforms.

The Modi Government is again attempting to push through the same discredited exercise in the name of so called reforms.
