India, June 10 -- Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev has resigned from her parliamentary position and party responsibilities, delivering another setback to the party led by Mamata Banerjee amid an ongoing political crisis.

According to reports, Sushmita Dev submitted her resignation to Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan, requesting that it be accepted with immediate effect. The reasons behind her decision have not yet been publicly disclosed.

Her resignation comes just days after senior TMC leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray stepped down from both the party and Parliament, highlighting the growing turmoil within the Trinamool Congress.
