India, Oct. 9 -- Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Anurag Jain on Wednesday said teachers' presence in Government schools must be ensured at one hundred per cent, warning of strict action against those showing negligence in classroom duties.

Speaking on the second day of the Collectors-Commissioners Conference at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre in the state capital, Jain said education was the foundation of a developed India, and without strengthening it, no developmental goals could be achieved.

He directed officials to focus on increasing enrolment rates in schools and to include parents and education enthusiasts in School Development Committees to improve the learning environment.
