India, May 4 -- Several prominent BJP leaders are trailing in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, as early counting trends show strong performances by the DMK and Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagenthran, contesting from Sattur after shifting from Tirunelveli, is trailing behind DMK candidate Kadarkarairaj A by over 900 votes.

Union Minister L. Murugan is also behind in the Avanashi (reserved) constituency, trailing TVK's Kamali S by more than 2,000 votes, according to Election Commission trends.

Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan is facing a significant deficit in Mylapore, where she is trailing TVK candidate Venkataramanan P by over 9,000 votes.
