India, May 9 -- Newly sworn-in West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday visited Jorasanko Thakurbari, the ancestral home of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, shortly after taking oath as the state's first BJP chief minister.
Adhikari paid floral tributes to Tagore before formally beginning his official duties as Chief Minister.
Dressed in a traditional dhoti and saffron panjabi, Adhikari said he wanted to seek the blessings of "Kaviguru" Rabindranath Tagore before starting administrative work.
"My official work begins after paying tribute to Kaviguru," he said during the visit.
