India, July 29 -- Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded in early trade on Wednesday, led by gains in IT stocks and HDFC Bank amid fresh foreign fund inflows.

The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 726.13 points to 77,471.26, while the NSE Nifty climbed 203.50 points to 24,189.05.

Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services and Tech Mahindra were among the major gainers.

Foreign Institutional Investors turned buyers on Tuesday, purchasing equities worth Rs.755.33 crore, according to exchange data.

Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, rose 4.29 per cent to USD 87.70 a barrel.
