India, May 26 -- The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) GD Constable examination faced disruption at multiple centres on Monday, with exam shifts being cancelled in Kanpur due to overcrowding and in Muzaffarpur because of technical issues.

In Kanpur, both SSC GD examination shifts scheduled at Shrimati Ramkali Iqbal Bahadur Online Centre in Maharajpur were cancelled after authorities discovered that the number of candidates allotted to the centre far exceeded its seating capacity.

According to reports, the centre could accommodate only 399 candidates per shift, but nearly 819 admit cards were issued for each session. The exam was scheduled in two shifts between 2 pm to 3 pm and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
