India, March 21 -- Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, visited Wokha in Nagaland on Thursday. During the visit, the General Officer laid the foundation stone of a War Memorial dedicated to the brave soldiers of the region. The solemn ceremony was organised by the Assam Rifles and was attended by Assam Rifles officials, Ex-Servicemen (ESM), civil dignitaries and residents.

The event commenced with a briefing on the proposed War Memorial, highlighting its significance in honouring the sacrifices of soldiers from the region.
