Social welfare department to install CCTV after biometric machines found damaged with water
India, Aug. 11 -- Suspecting that some of the biometric machines installed at its offices to record attendance of staff were "deliberately damaged" by pouring water into them, Delhi Government's social welfare department has decided to install CCTV cameras for catching the culprits, officials said on Monday.
The issue was discussed at a recent meeting chaired by a deputy director (administration) of the department.
At the meeting, the incharges of several district offices and welfare homes and institutions reported that the biometric attendance devices installed on their premises were frequently malfunctioning.
