Sikkim woman allegedly killed by boyfriend in Bengaluru over suspected affair
India, June 14 -- A 22-year-old woman from Sikkim was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in Bengaluru after he suspected her of being involved in another relationship. The incident took place in the city's Bellandur area and has shocked residents and members of the northeastern community living in Bengaluru.
According to police, the victim, identified as Ati Hangma Subba, worked as a receptionist at a salon in Bengaluru. She was reportedly living with her boyfriend, Purba Lepcha, a native of Darjeeling who worked as a waiter.
Investigators said an argument broke out between the couple over suspicions of infidelity, following which the accused allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon and slit her throat.
