India, Sept. 19 -- Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Saturday visited the Mangaluru fishing harbour early in the morning, inspected its operations and interacted with fishermen, fish traders and representatives of local trade associations.

Accompanied by Health Minister and Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge U T Khader, local leaders and members of the Dakshina Kannada Trawl Boat Fishermen's Association, Shivakumar reached the harbour around 5 am and walked through the jetties and docking areas.

The chief minister examined the day's catch and sought details from fishermen and officials about fishing activities, harbour facilities and the challenges faced by the fishing community. Representatives also submitted a list of demand...
