India, July 16 -- A dispute over a seat on a Mumbai local train turned violent in the early hours of Thursday, leaving passengers injured after an altercation inside the coach. The incident occurred on an Ambernath-bound local train travelling between Dombivli and Thakurli stations shortly after midnight.

According to one injured passenger, a group of men confronted him while he was resting on a seat and allegedly assaulted him with a metal bracelet (kada), causing head injuries. He also claimed that the attackers attempted to push him out of the moving train before fellow passengers intervened and rescued him at Thakurli station.
