India, Aug. 23 -- Calling its earlier decision too harsh, the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday modified its order dated August 11 on stray dogs in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The modified order said strays would be picked up from the streets and confined to dedicated shelters and directed that canines would be released in the area where they were collected from, after sterilisation, deworming and vaccination except those infected with rabies or exhibiting aggressive behaviour. It directed that no public feeding of dogs will be allowed, and dedicated feeding spaces for stray dogs to be created.
