India, Aug. 19 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred to September 2 the hearing on a PIL which alleged that the Odisha Government was trying to include a junior officer in the list of probable candidates for the DGP post in breach of the apex court's directions in the 2006 Prakash Singh case. A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana was informed by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Odisha Government, that the state has filed its response to the PIL. The bench said that the reply of the state Government was not on record. The CJI said that he would like to go through the reply of the state Government.
