India, March 25 -- The Supreme Court collegium on Tuesday approved a proposal for the appointment of eight additional judges as permanent judges of two high courts. The collegium, headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant, in a meeting approved the names of Justices R Poornima, M Jothiraman, and Augustine Devadoss Maria Clete as permanent judges in the Madras High Court.

In another decision, the collegium has approved the names of Justices Sachin Singh Rajput, Radhakishan Agrawal, Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Bibhu Datta Guru, and Amitendra Kishore Prasad as permanent judges in the Chhattisgarh High Court.
