India, April 10 -- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday urged lawmakers to rise above personal and political interests, emphasising that elected representatives must act with integrity to translate public expectations into concrete actions.

Inaugurating the first CPA India Region Zone VII Conference in Goa, Birla noted that upholding citizens' trust requires unwavering commitment to public welfare.
