India, Sept. 22 -- Filmmaker Rima Das has been named one of three jurors for the New Currents Award at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.

Das will serve on the jury alongside Korean actor Shim Eun-kyung and Chinese producer Shan Zuolong.

One of the festival's major competitive honours, the New Currents Award recognises emerging filmmakers from Asia and carries a cash prize of KRW 20 million, approximately USD 14,719.

Das has a long association with the Busan festival, where several of her films have been screened over the years.

Her films "Bulbul Can Sing" and "Tora's Husband" have previously screened at Busan, while "Village Rockstars 2" premiered at the festival in 2024 and won the Kim Jiseok Award for Best Film.
