India, Oct. 2 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to visit India on December 5-6 for a bilateral summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources familiar with the matter have confirmed. The high-profile visit comes at a critical juncture, as tensions rise between New Delhi and Washington over India's continued trade with Moscow, particularly in the energy sector.
The trip, if confirmed, will mark Putin's first visit to India since the start of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.
