President Murmu urges police forces to be more citizen-centric and sensitive
India, May 28 -- President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday urged police forces across the country to become more citizen-centric and sensitive towards vulnerable sections of society, especially women, children and the poor.
The President made the remarks while conferring the prestigious President's Police Colour on the Sikkim Police during the Alankaran Parade held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.
With this honour, Sikkim became the 15th state in the country and the third state from the Northeast to receive the President's Police Colour, which is regarded as the highest ceremonial recognition awarded to a police force in India.
