India, Nov. 5 -- The Jharkhand Police and district administration will maintain strict vigil on the sale, storage and use of firecrackers during Diwali and Chhath. In view of the risk of fire incidents and accidents during the festive season, the Special Branch of the Jharkhand Police Headquarters has directed all Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to ensure adequate security arrangements.

The directives include inspections of firecracker shops, action against illegal storage and sale, and strict enforcement of restrictions on fireworks beyond the permitted hours.
