India, Oct. 13 -- The Cyber Police Station of Shahdara District has arrested a 25-year-old man from Ludhiana, Punjab. He allegedly duped a Delhi resident of '55,100 in an online "work-from-home" cryptocurrency scam.
Police recovered three mobile phones, 12 ATM cards, and six SIM cards from the accused, exposing a network of Telegram-based fraud groups targeting job seekers.
DCP (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said, "The accused was part of a larger network operating across states. Our teams are tracking the remaining associates and money trail. Citizens are advised to stay alert and verify any work-from-home offers, especially those promising quick returns."
