India, Oct. 12 -- In a significant move to empower farmers and transform the agricultural sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) and the 'Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses' with an outlay of Rs 35,440 crores to boost pulses production and improve the farm sector growth in 100 low-performing districts, as he exhorted farmers to reduce the country's import dependence and increase exports.
