India, June 16 -- The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that there is no proposal currently under consideration for a Middle East-India deepwater pipeline, dismissing recent media reports suggesting active discussions on the project.

The ministry stated that it had taken note of reports claiming that India was pursuing a deep-sea energy pipeline linking Gujarat with Oman and other Gulf countries. It categorically denied any such initiative, saying there are no ongoing talks or negotiations with Oman or any other country regarding the project.
