India, March 15 -- The Counter-Terrorism Department of the Pakistan police gunned down six terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the restive northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A spokesman for the counter terrorism department (CTD)said the operation was conducted in the Shagai area of Lakki Marwat district. The terrorists opened fire on the CTD team as they approached their location, following which the law enforcers fired in retaliation, he said. The firing continued for an hour and ended with the killing of six terrorists, he added.
