India, July 28 -- Adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth Kanwar Yatra in Shahjahanpur of Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Tuesday, July 28.

Kanwariyas collect Ganga water from Panchal Ghat in Farrukhabad before proceeding to Gola Gokarannath for 'jalabhishek' on the Shivling.

Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit told PTI that 1,100 constables, 210 sub-inspectors, 17 inspectors, seven circle officers and 44 motorcycle patrol units have been deployed along the route to ensure the devotees' safety.
