India, Oct. 6 -- We seem to be obsessed about equities, stock market indices, domestic and foreign factors that may impact stock valuations, market capitalisation, interest rates, inflation, GDP growth, and so on. But as a recent survey (2025) by SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India), the market regulator, along with several stakeholders, indicates, we are in a minority. The vast percentage of the Indian population does not care about the markets. A third of the Indians has not even heard of something we think is common jargon, like stocks, and mutual funds.
