India, Oct. 17 -- Patting his own back on the occasion of completing one year in office, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday made a significant announcement related to the resumption of the traditional bi-annual Darbar Move practice after a gap of more than four years.

The bi-annual 'Darbar' Move practice, which entailed an expenditure of over 200 crores, was halted by the Union Territory administration headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in June 2021.

The UT administration had successfully digitised over two crore pages from 3.50 lakh files of various Government offices before switching over to using the e-office project, which enabled Government employees to access these files from any location.
