India, Oct. 17 -- South Korean and Cambodian officials met Thursday to coordinate a response to online scams, following the death of a South Korean student who was reportedly trafficked and forced to work in a scam centre in Cambodia. A South Korean delegation visited the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, for talks with officials, including Cambodian PM Hun Manet. South Koreans have been outraged by Cambodia's vast online scam industry, which uses trafficked workers from various countries to target victims around the world. Officials estimate that about 200,000 people, including some 1,000 South Koreans, are working at online scam sites in Cambodia.
