India, July 4 -- A man in Odisha's Jajpur district has been arrested for allegedly murdering a woman's maternal uncle after his marriage proposal was rejected by the family. According to police, the accused had repeatedly expressed his desire to marry the woman, but her family refused the proposal. Investigators believe the rejection led to growing resentment, ultimately resulting in the fatal attack.

Police said the accused allegedly attacked the woman's uncle with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following the incident, police launched an investigation, tracked down the accused, and took him into custody.
