India, April 29 -- At least 4people were killed and more than 20 others injured in a tragic road accident in Odisha's Sundergarh district after a bus collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 143.

The accident occurred late Tuesday night under the Chandiposh police station limits when the bus was travelling from Rourkela to Mangalpur in Jajpur district. According to police, both the bus driver and the truck driver are among those who lost their lives.

2victims died on the spot, while 2 others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Several passengers were trapped inside the mangled bus and had to be rescued by cutting through parts of the vehicle.
