India, April 1 -- Nine councillors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) Standing Committee retired on Tuesday following a draw of lots conducted during a meeting chaired by Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma.
The retirements come as part of the statutory process under the Delhi Municipal Corporation (DMC) Act, which mandates periodic rotation of members. The Standing Committee comprises 18 councillors, of whom half retire at the end of their tenure through a draw of lots.
