Nepal floods toll climbs to 469 as search for survivors continues
India, Aug. 28 -- The death toll from the flash floods that devastated central Nepal rose to 469 on Friday as search and rescue operations continued for the third day, with authorities recovering more bodies from affected areas.
Nepal Police said the bodies had been recovered from eight districts, with Chitwan reporting the highest number of deaths at 178. Another 110 bodies were recovered from Nawalparasi East, 44 from Gorkha, 37 from Nuwakot and 33 from Dhading.
Tanahu reported 28 deaths, while 27 bodies were recovered from Nawalparasi West and 12 from Rasuwa, according to the police.
