India, Sept. 4 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), as part of a pilot project, will extend the operating hours of 11 public toilets in Connaught Place till midnight from Friday, in a bid to make the popular commercial and leisure hub more visitor-friendly.

NDMC chairman Manoj Dwivedi said people often stay in Connaught Place till late and the timings of the public conveniences were therefore being extended. There are 23 public toilets in Connaught Place, of which 11 will, in the first instance, remain open till midnight.
