Myanmar's detained former leader Aung San Suu Kyi meets Red Cross representative
India, Aug. 3 -- Myanmar's detained former leader Aung San Suu Kyi met with a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the capital on Monday, in a rare contact with the outside world since the military seized power in 2021.
The military-backed government released photographs showing Suu Kyi meeting Arnaud de Baecque, the ICRC's representative to Myanmar, and shaking hands with him in a wood-panelled room.
The Presidential Press and Information Bureau said the meeting took place on Monday morning but did not disclose where it was held or provide details of the discussions.
