India, July 5 -- Mumbai continued to face severe monsoon conditions on Sunday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) kept the city under a red alert due to persistent heavy rainfall. Several parts of the city witnessed widespread waterlogging, with the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Kurla among the worst-affected areas after rainwater entered the railway premises, disrupting passenger movement. Authorities have also warned of a 4.19-metre high tide, increasing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has urged residents to remain indoors unless travel is absolutely necessary.
